Description:
This presentation will provide a better understanding of general liability claims and best practices in responding to a general liability event. We will discuss how process and effective claim management can lead to positive claim outcomes.
Objectives:
- Guide members about what elements make up a general liability claim, including the types of events and the role of each party involved.
- Explain how an indemnification provision in a vendor contract outlines responsibility for an event.
- Develop a thorough understanding of how to manage a general liability event after it occurs, from the investigation to when it becomes a claim.

Speaker Bio:
Christina brings a unique background to her role, utilizing focused strategic initiatives toward claims management with positive results. Before joining Caring Communities, Christina worked as a Division Claim Manager mitigating large loss exposures for senior living communities. She also acted as Assistant General Counsel for a senior living organization where she litigated while working closely with claims in a hybrid role. Prior to that, Christina reached Partner status in the law firm setting from 2001 to 2013, litigating matters in the state, federal, and appellate courts. Christina’s leadership in the industry concerning effective risk management tactics led to serving as a guest lecturer at various industry events, including the Long-Term Care Risk Legal Forum, and CALA Risk Symposium. Christina received her Bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in communications, from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. She also holds her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.
