This webinar will provide legal and practical strategies to navigate the complex waters of employee accommodations, including responding to employee requests for accommodations and recognizing when accommodations may be warranted even when not explicitly requested. It will cover many types of employee accommodations, including issues relating to disability, religious, pregnancy, and transgender status.

Objectives

  1. Understand the legal requirements of providing accommodations under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.
  2. Identify when an employee may need an accommodation.
  3. Learn best practices when engaging in the interactive process to identify an accommodation.
  4. Discuss examples of accommodations that may be provided, and examples of accommodations that are not required to be provided.

Speaker Bio
Darin Williams is a Partner at Laner Muchin. He serves as a trusted advisor and dependable legal counsel to employers throughout the country by helping businesses manage risk within their workforces. He works extensively with Caring Communities members. When workplace issues are unavoidable, Darin uses his background as a litigator to craft strategies for resolution, negotiate favorable solutions, and minimize costly litigation.
