Description:
This webinar will offer an overview of the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) inspection process, highlighting key “hot button” issues relevant to service providers. It will discuss the inspection process and share practical tips on what to anticipate. Additionally, it will cover best practices for ensuring the OSHA 300 injury and illness logs are prepared and accessible should they be requested during an inspection.

Objectives:

  1. Understand your rights when an OSHA investigator arrives to conduct an inspection.
  2. Review scenarios in which OSHA might bring a third party to an inspection and how to respond if the investigator is accompanied.
  3. Discuss OSHA enforcement priorities and key issues for your industry.
  4. Identify common record keeping issues with OSHA 300 logs and how to address them proactively.

Speaker Bio:
Peter Gillespie is a Partner at Laner Muchin. He has provided advice and counsel on occupational safety and health issues for over 25 years. He works extensively with Caring Communities members on health and safety matters. Pete is available to be on-site in the event of a serious injury or fatality, can offer proactive strategies before or during workplace inspections, has extensive experience in responding to employee whistleblower claims, has represented employers nationwide in negotiating settlements of citations and in disputes involving penalty citations.
