Air Force Enlisted Village is a 55+ retirement community for retired enlisted military members and their surviving spouses located in Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida, just three miles from Eglin Air Force Base.

“We are pleased to join Caring Communities and the Members who make this organization so strong,” commented President and CEO Brooke McLean, CMSgt (ret). “The opportunities to network, learn, and improve our operations will greatly assist the residents and staff of the Air Force Enlisted Village.”

“We are proud to welcome Air Force Enlisted Village as our newest Member. With a storied history of serving retired enlisted U.S. Airmen and their surviving spouses dating back to the 1960’s, Air Force Enlisted Village’s mission to provide safe and secure housing resonates with Caring Communities and our nearly 80 Members’ values, “said Ashur Odishoo, Caring Communities Chief Growth Officer. “Joining forces with Air Force Enlisted Village strengthens our organization and furthers our growth strategy to collaborate with the nation’s top senior living organizations. It is an honor to partner with Brooke P. McLean, CMSgt (ret), President and CEO, and the entire Air Force Enlisted Village leadership team and organization.”

The Air Force Enlisted Village (AFEV) was incorporated in 1968, granted nonprofit 501 (c)(3) status in 1971, and recognized as an official charity of the Air Force in 1973.  The goal of the AFEV is to “provide a home” for surviving spouses of retired enlisted Air Force members.
