A.M. Best affirms the “A” (Excellent) rating of Caring Communities, a Reciprocal Risk Retention Group (CCrRRG) (District of Columbia) and Caring Communities Insurance Company (CCIC) (Cayman Islands). The outlook for all ratings remains stable.
Maintaining a consistent “A” rating reflects CCrRRG’s and CCIC’s continued excellence in risk-adjusted capitalization, consistently profitable operating results, and good geographic spread of risk. Another positive influence on the ratings, is the significant cash flows from underwriting and operations, coupled with prudently conservative investments. There are several factors which have contributed to a 97% policyholder retention rate since the companies’ inception, including: selective underwriting, tailored loss control and engineering services designed for facilities caring for seniors, and a claims approach focusing on the liability risks within these communities. Continuing implementation of strong risk-management measures has also contributed to loss and loss adjustment expense ratios well below the industry averages for both companies.
CCrRRG and CCIC’s primary mission has been to provide their owner/policyholders stable coverage into the future. They have also generated a net profit through all of their years in existence. CCrRRG and CCIC’s combined ratios have also outperformed peers by a significant margin. Their investment portfolio involves a diverse mix of assets, resulting in a conservative portfolio that consistently yields a return.
