Understanding Federal Law Governing Compensable Time and Overtime
Tuesday, May 27, 2025
12:00 – 1:00 pm Central
Description
Join us for an informative webinar exploring what constitutes compensable time under federal wage and hour laws. This webinar will cover key areas such pay for meal breaks, travel time, and training time to help employers stay compliant. The webinar will also address how to properly calculate an employee’s overtime rate of pay when employees receive additional compensation, such as bonuses and employees working at multiple hourly rates.
Objectives
- Learn what federal law considers “work” for overtime pay and compensation purposes, including breaks and time spent traveling and in training;
- Understand what should be included in an employee’s overtime rate of pay when employees receive other compensation such as bonuses and working different jobs;
- Recognize the risks with having exempt employees perform non-exempt duties; and
- Understand the record keeping requirements for time records.
