Description: This webinar on identifying risk factors for late-life suicide will extend and expand upon the learnings from the first presentation offered in November 2023 and put the information into real world scenarios around situations, documentation, and problem solving.

Objectives:

Objective 1: To recognize modifiable risk factors that contribute to late-life suicide and depression.

Objective 2: To learn how to use documentation surrounding suicidality and other mental health concerns to prevent/mitigate risk in senior living environments.

Objective 3: To understand and identify behaviors commonly seen in the elder population that carry increased risk and may signal the need for additional intervention and assistance in order to prevent suicide.

Speaker Bio:
Dr. Julie Rickard, a licensed psychologist, is the CEO for Moment-by-Moment Suicide Prevention (@MbMSP) and founder of the Suicide Prevention Coalition of North Central Washington in Wenatchee, WA. She is well-known throughout the Northwest region for her work in integrating psychologists into medical settings, creating coaching programs for physicians, helping systems to manage difficult patient and employee issues, and working with late-life suicide. Regionally Dr. Rickard has procured funding for the Hope Squad implementation in schools throughout the NCW region and the Mental Health Triage Team embedded within two emergency rooms. She is a highly sought-after speaker for her ability to engage audiences and her wit while presenting difficult topics.
