Our 2022 Spring Education Workshop will focus on culture, resiliency, and organizational readiness. The workshop will enhance Members’ knowledge of the human capital component of the enterprise risk management framework, apply tools and techniques to evaluate organizational culture, and develop strategies to facilitate staff resilience and promote care for the caregiver. These individual-focused sessions will support and optimize organizational readiness in this climate of uncertainty and change from an enterprise risk management perspective. (Please note that attendance at one spring education workshop by a Member’s corporate risk manager or his/her designee will fulfill Prescriptive 4.1.1. Participants will also be eligible for CEU credits). Spring education this year will be presented by Violet Clark and Dr. Dianne M. Dawson Daniels.

Speakers:

Dr. Dianne M. Dawson Daniels is a consultant and educator with industry, academic, and non-profit experience. She currently serves as associate professor of leadership studies and management program chair at Loyola University Chicago and managing consultant at 4D Advising, an organizational performance consulting practice. She is a registered leadership and executive coach, a SOAL® certified coach & consultant, and a Polaris® leadership consultant. She specializes in organizational and individual performance management, strategic planning, leadership training, and executive coaching, serving as an advisor to chief officers, organizational presidents and vice presidents, boards of directors, executive directors, and senior management teams across industry sectors. She is also a trained Six Sigma DMAIC Greenbelt with process improvement experience.

Dr. Dawson Daniels has served on and advised multiple boards nationwide and completed strategic planning efforts for non-profit boards locally and regionally. She has held roles as assistant dean, administrative faculty, and full-time faculty at Olivet Nazarene University, Kenney College, and Loyola University Chicago. Her experiences as a corporate finance professional working for major corporations in industries such as high-tech manufacturing, telecommunications, and financial services involving corporate financial planning and analysis, finance operations, financial systems, and cost accounting provide her with a broad perspective on issues of financial management, organizational development, and strategy. She has held management responsibilities across regions and developed teams to support organizations with business development, sales and marketing, information technology, operations, human resources, and finance.

Violet Clark is a partner with the firm Laner Muchin, where she has been since 1987. She collaborates with organizations to design strategies that ensure their businesses achieve their goals regarding all aspects of human resources management, while at the same time avoiding labor and employment liability. Violet excels at helping her clients to identify and avoid potential problems. When issues cannot be avoided, she designs strategies and uses her significant negotiations experience to secure favorable resolutions at the earliest possible stage and minimize costly litigation, and she serves as a senior strategist on the litigation team. She has more than three decades of experience representing not-for-profit and for-profit companies of all sizes and industries.
