This webinar offers creative ways to navigate staffing shortages, such as allowing exempt employees to pick up shifts by performing non-exempt work, paying for employees to obtain certifications and hiring employees under Visa or other programs. This course will address wage and hour/compensability considerations, risks with losing an overtime exemption, and tuition reimbursement/deduction issues.

Objectives:
As a result of this presentation, attendees will:

  1. Identify and develop creative ways to recruit, develop, and train new and existing talent.
  2. Determine how to effectively manage and maximize resources during staffing shortages.
  3. Understand legal considerations when managing employee schedules during staffing shortages.
  4. Develop strategies to maintain a productive work environment during staffing shortages.

Speaker Bio:
Darin is a Partner at Laner Muchin. He serves as a trusted advisor and dependable legal counsel to employers throughout the country by helping businesses manage risk within their workforces. He works extensively with Caring Communities members. When workplace issues are unavoidable, Darin uses his background as a litigator to craft strategies for resolution, negotiate favorable solutions, and minimize costly litigation.
